Rotherham 10K: Wentworth Woodhouse

Traffic Management & Road Closures

The Event road closures will be in place & sealed from 09:00. All are advised to get to the site well before 09:00

The advance signage will state road closures from 09:00 - 11:30 on the 5th, but the likelyhood is that all will be opened asap after 10:30 (when the back markers are in the estate road.

Guidance to runners will be to use Nether Haugh and Cortworth Lane (B6090) as the best access route to the event. The info for all entrants should state that access to WW must be before 09:00 (the TM staff will be able to let runners through up to about 09:10.).

Entering site

Runners and event spectators should enter the site via the B6090 near to Wentworth village Please drive carefully on the estate road (20 mph limit), descend the estate road passing the house on your right and follow the estate road across the cattle grid to turn left and follow that to the parking area on the grass, marked as 1 on the event site layout plan. Please follow directions and instructions from the site parking stewards. It is about 200m from the car parking area to the start / finish area. The site layout shows the location fo the marquee for Number collection and bag storage, and the portable toilets

Ready to start

We are asking all runners to be ready to start from about 09:15, there will be a warm up near the start area, and runners are asked to gather in the surfaced road area infront of the house, and there will be some markers outlining where you should be based on your expected finishing time

The TM lead will confirm to me at 09:25 that all roads are sealed and the event can start. Runners will be called forward to the start line, and the race will hopefully start at 09:30

Closures in Race

As the race progresses, the plan will be to move the road closure on Main Street (just below Clayfield Lane), as soon as the back markers have left Main St, to seal Clayfield Lane until all runners are in Cortworth Lane . The closure on Hague Lane will also open at that time. (Hopefully around 9:50)

The closure at the bottom of Coaley Lane will be moved to seal Cortworth Lane, as soon as the back markers have passed the Coaley lane junction.. (this should enable people to use Coaley lane to get to Wentworth, at around 10:00 )

Similarly the closure on the Angel lane will move to block Cortworth Lane, which allows Hoober residents to get out towards Wentworth. (Around 10:10)

The closure in Nether Haugh - above the Cortworth Lane junction - will move to below the Cortworth Lane Junction to allow people to enter Cortworth lane from the North. Around 10:20 Once the last runners are in the Estate road all road closure will start to be removed - hopefully around 10:30.
