Rotherham 10k Route Profile

The profile shows kilometers on the horizontal scale and metres above sea level vertically. On the left is the race start. The race is on the whole undulating for about 4k, but note there is a slight rise to 1k at which point is leaves the park on to the main road (Cortworth Lane).

The race then takes the main road with a swing right into the main street of Wentworth. After a level stretch, a turn right and right again sets the race back towards the park, with a slight rise again at around 2k. Meeting Cortworth Lane again the race then leaves the village (with the park on its right).

A long slightly downhill section now continues until meeting a major road (and turn to the right) after 5k. Increasingly downhill and through Nether Haugh at 6k, at the bottom of the hill it turns sharp right into Wentworth Park again, its bottom entrance. You will be among the anglers in the section 7k onwards for a kilometer, alongside some very scenic ponds or lakes.

The above route (between 3 and 8) gives you some five fastest kilometres. However be aware that the final 2k will not be so kind- the most challenging 2k of the course, though it does get just that bit kinder with a let-up for the last half-k
