Payments for the event are received by Rotherham HAC in the first instance but all financial activity is carried out by PayPal (except Bank Transfer, which is direct).
Rotherham HAC and Rotherham10k take no part in your actual payment.

'Affiliated' runners and clubs

An affiliated club is one which pays subscription to the governing body: UK Athletics. Subscriptions are separately for track-and-field, cross-country, road running, hill-and-fell, race walking, and trail running, and UKA provides organisation and other services notably event insurance. In the context of the Rotherhan 10k race it is road running.

Both events and individual runners need a UK Race Licence, the former for legality and the latter to take part insuch as county, area and national inter-club competitions.
But individuals do not need one in most open races.
However, UKA charges organisers of races higher fees for event race licences in proportion to the number of unaffiliated runners and this extra is passed on to unaffiliated runners in turn.
Unaffiliated runners used to be referred to as 'unattached'. This is still logical as it is affiliated clubs who handle the runner licence system- so you need to be in a club to get a licence.
