Rotherham 10k and FunRun 2020

Homepage and Introduction

Postponement Notice

The 2020 Events

Following the Government statement, and the measures outlined to prevent the spread on Covid 19 virus on the 16th March, and the subsequent advice issued by England Athletics; the Local Organising Committee have concluded that it will not be feasible for the Rotherham 10K to take place on the 17th May.

This decision has not been taken quickly or lightly, but we cannot risk the health and welfare of participants and spectators, as the forecast peak impact of the virus is close to the event date.

The Rotherham 10k and Fun Run supports the work of Age UK Rotherham. The current situation with the Coronavirus pandemic is unprecedented and there is much concern about older people who are clearly at greater risk in our community.

We will attempt to find another date when the event can take place; however at this stage it is not possible to know:
i) when the virus risk is reduced to an acceptable safe level &
ii) what dates will be feasible alternative dates - given the amount of cancelled events that will all be seeking to defer to a later safe date
If the Rotherham 10K does not take place in 2020, all entrants will be able to apply for a refund of the entry fee or to rollover their place to the 2021 event.

Please follow the Government advice and take care.
